Dr. Anil Sood earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina in 1991, and since then has been actively involved in the fields of gynecology, oncology, and reproductive medicine. Aside from working as a professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Anil Sood also engages in helping other organizations in his field of specialization, such as the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC).
The Foundation for Women’s Cancer seeks to eradicate gynecologic and other related cancers by supporting research and education and by increasing public awareness of such cancers. The foundation is holding a series of education courses and events starting September 2018, including the 2018 National Race to End Women’s Cancer.
Scheduled on November 4, this year’s race gives individuals a chance to support survivors of cancer, honor those who succumbed to cancer, and raise awareness to prevent the disease from affecting the next generation. The event will involve a pre-race program, which consists of music and dancing, and inspirational stories from survivors and advocates, and a 5K/1M run/walk.
