An experienced gynecologic oncologist in Houston, Texas, Dr. Anil Sood has served as a faculty member at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center since 2002. His current roles with the Center include positions as co-director of the Women’s Cancer Moonshot Program, director of the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program, vice chairman of translational research with the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, and co-director of the Center for RNA Interference and Non-Coding. Dr. Anil Sood also serves the Center as a Frank McGraw Memorial chair in cancer research.
Over the years, Dr. Anil Sood has completed significant research in areas that range from ovarian cancer biology to the effects of chronic stress on cancer growth and metastasis. This research has resulted in medical innovations that have led Dr. Sood to file for multiple patents. He has authored or coauthored dozens of book chapters and hundreds of peer-reviewed articles in scholarly publications such as Clinical Cancer Research and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
